Today is the last day of our adventure, and we fly home tomorrow from London. I am doing lots of reflecting and reminiscing about all the great experiences we had on this trip…people we met, places we saw, new foods and new adventures taking us out of our rut and onto our own ledge. I have not fully processed all of it but know that when we return to our “traditional” life tomorrow, I have some great memories and experiences to remember this adventure by. We travelled very light this trip, by the end having just two carry-on sized suitcases for the three of us. So the best souvenirs I am bringing home are not physical objects, but goals for our family. We sat in Hyde Park yesterday having a picnic and put together this list of 10 family goals for the rest of 2016.
- Go on 3 family picnics
- Hike to 1 of the great waterfalls around us
- Go on 4 family bike rides
- Take a roadtrip to a new place
- See 2 sunsets
- Try 5 new recipes we learned on our trip
- Visit the Porsche test track in Atlanta
- Take a walking tour in an American city
- Visit a museum in Athens
- Shop at a local farmers market 5 times
These activities brought us great joy, savoring the slow and simple things in life. We hope adding these to our routine back home will be the best souvenirs to help us remember the great times of #RuttotheLedge.
Feel free to ask us how we are doing on our goals when you see us back home.
